Accessibility

We believe that the internet should be available and accessible to everyone, without prejudice of abilities or status.

Our aim is to fulfill all criteria of content accessibility on the Internet at level AA. Following these regulations ensures that the website is accessible to everyone; the visually challenged, people with motor difficulties, people with epilepsy, color blindness, cognitive challenges and more. The IDSF website has been designed in a manner that ensures it is adapted for all users, in keeping with the equal rights regulations for people with challenges (service accessibility adaptations_ of 2013, and in accordance with recommendations for internet site content accessibility WCAG 2.0.
  1. The site is written semantically with accepted HTML tags and hierarchic content. In addition, ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Attributes) attributes are embedded in the site in order to ensure that visually-impaired users visiting the site will be able to read, understand and enjoy the site’s functions.
  2. Pictures with ALT tags (alternative text) which provide clear, simple information about the picture’s content.
  3. Text size on the site as well as the font were carefully selected so that the site content would be easy to read for visually impaired users as well.
  4. The content is adapted for the use of popular screen readers including JAWS and NVDA.
  5. The site is adapted for keyboard browsing. This includes the ability to browse the website using Tab and Shift + Tab keys to activate menus and selected fields with the arrow keys and to close them using Esc. This includes pressing buttons and links using the enter key, browsing among radio elements and check boxes using the arrow keys, and filling them in using the space or Enter keys.
  6. Users with hearing aides may experience headaches or other difficulties due to the automatic sound. This site does not use any automatic sound.
Personal adaptation of the attributes based on accessibility interface There are some elements which are not automatically accessible. For this reason we created an accessibility interface which allows people with specific challenges to adapt the site and design it for their personal needs. Access to accessibility options is available through pressing on the blue accessibility button with the wheelchair sign on the bottom right hand of the screen. The individually adapted specifications are saved on the user’s device for 30 days, so there is no need to re-define them every day. The following are the specifications we offer in order to provide a superior experience for each and every user:
  1. Color profile specifications – the website has been designed so that colors will contrast and be comfortable for reading. Users who are interested in changing the color palette may choose a high-contrast, light background or opposite contrast state.
  2. Highlighting links – users may choose to highlight external links which open in separate windows. (target=”_blank”) – through the accessibility interface it is possible to request that external links be opened in the same window.
Browser compatibility and tech support Our aim is to provide support for the entire browser system and support technology insofar as is possible, so that our users can choose those tools which best suit their needs, with the fewest challenges. We use all those browsers which make up 95% of the user market including Google Chrome, Mozille Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge. JAWS and NVDA (screen readers) work with both Windows and MAC. COMMENTS AND FEEDBACK Despite our many efforts to ensure the ability of every user to adapt the site for their needs, there may still be pages or sections which are not fully accessible, and which are either in the process of being made accessible, or there may not yet be an appropriate technological solution for them. If you encounter a problem or are unable to use any section of the site, or if you have ideas to help us improve it, we would be glad to hear from you.
