Major General (res.) Meir Kalifi-Amir served in the IDF for 33 years, during which he held an impressive array of high-ranking positions. Among these are: commander of the 202nd Paratroopers Battalion, Commander of the 55th Paratroopers Brigade, Commander of the 84th “Givati” Brigade, Commander of the Sinai Division, Commander of the Galilee Division, Head of the GQ Doctrine and Training division, Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces, and the military secretary of the two prime ministers, Ehud Olmert and Benjamin Netanyahu.
Upon his release from the IDF, Major General Kalifi served in a variety of roles in the business world, as well a presiding over the Friends of the IDF in the United States.
Major General Kalifi is married to Brigadier General (res.) Gila Kalifi-Amir and they have three children.
