When the war broke out, a team from the Vulcan company, who were on standby at the Sufa outpost, swiftly mobilized and headed to the Gaza border. From inside the tank, the team – Ido the commander, Idan the driver, Nitzan the gunner and Eliya the loader – alone eliminated 80-100 terrorists. “I kept loading more and more shells, and we took down one terrorist after another, and it didn’t seem to stop,” said Eliya. At the same time, they received an order to destroy the remote-operated sees-fires automatic firing system after Hamas terrorists commandeered it and aimed it at our forces. After hours of combat, the team started to run low on ammunition and retreated to the Sufa outpost. There, they engaged in a fierce battle, shooting at the terrorists and running them over. They remained in their tank for over 24 hours.
