Awad Darawsheh, a 23-year-old ambulance driver and paramedic for the Red Magen David, was serving as a medical attendant at the Nova festival in Re’im. When the Hamas attack began, the ambulance company instructed the medical attendants to leave the scene, but Awad Darawshe refused to leave while there were still many injured people there who needed care. In addition, he believed that as an Arab, he could communicate with the terrorists. He was shot dead by a Hamas terrorist while ministering to one of the wounded people.
