Capt. Eliel Malka commanded a sector in Israel’s north. Immediately after the war broke out on October 7, 2023, his unit joined the forces stationed in Kibbutz Kfar Aza to rescue the besieged residents. Throughout the night and over the following day, his team of soldiers gained entry into approximately 400 houses and successfully rescued the residents. After two sleepless nights, in the fifth house they reached, they encountered an entrenched terrorist squad that opened fire on them with small arms and grenades. Captain Eliel Malka was seriously injured. However, despite his injuries, he continued to fight courageously even while lying on the ground, until IDF forces managed to collapse the house on the terrorist cell, neutralizing it.
