Cadet Nitai Cohen of the Border Police, a resident of Afula, hurried to Kibbutz Be’eri on Saturday morning upon hearing that it had been taken over by terrorists on Saturday morning. Driving in the direction of Ofakim with four fellow fighters, they received a report of a force engaging with terrorists and immediately rushed to the location. Cadet Cohen exited the vehicle and threw a grenade at the terrorists. He then saw that a fighter from the second force had been shot in the neck. Together with another fighter, they provided immediate medical attention using a helmet to apply pressure to the wound, successfully saving his life. The critically wounded fighter was extracted and taken to hospital, where he is recovering from his wounds, and the rest of the force continued fighting until Sunday morning.
