The Kibbutz Reim nurse, Dina Cohen, courageously tended to the wounded On the morning of October 7, Dina Cohen, the Kibbutz Reim nurse, was urgently called to the Kibbutz infirmary where she’s been working for years. When she arrived, she could hardly recognize the place of – blood and shattered glass were everywhere, as the army had to break in through the window. Eight wounded soldiers were there waiting for urgent treatment, and later more wounded began arriving from the Nova music festival and the kibbutz’s security team, turning the infirmary into a trauma room. Some were so severely wounded that it was clear to Dina that they need emergency evacuation. A military helicopter was called and Dina helped transfer the wounded soldier to vehicles, under live fire, and drove them through the road where the fighting was raging. One wounded officer – Colonl Roy Levi, commander of the combined special operations task force – did not survive. May he rest in peace.
