Dvir Rahamim Was Murdered When He Tried to Rescue His Friends

Dvir Rahamim, who was at the Nova Music Festival near Kibbutz Reim, was already standing

in the traffic trying to make his way out of the compound with other partygoers trying to

escape the massacre. However, in a swift decision, he turned the car around and headed

right back into the inferno to help tend to the wounded and try to rescue them. Dvir had

finished his IDF service in the Combat Engineering Corps two years before, and guided by the

ethics and camaraderie instilled in him during his service, felt he couldn’t leave his wounded

peers behind. Some people asked if they could get into his car, however, he informed them

that he was heading back to save his wounded buddy. Later, survivors recount that they had

seen him run with a gurney and evacuate a friend. After that rescue, he headed back in

under fire and grenades thrown from overhead gliders, when he was fatally wounded and

receiving no aid, bled to death. May he rest in peace.
