Guy Simchi, a paratrooper in the paratroops’ commando unit, was on vacation on the weekend of the attack. On the morning of October 7, he was partying with friends at the Nova music festival. When the terrorists arrived at Reim, he was able to get 14 of his friends into the safety room, thereby saving their lives. Guy and another friend, Adar, who was a member of Kibbutz Reim and a fighter on the Maglan recon unit and the only one with a firearm, stayed outside the safety room to protect their friends. They were able to eliminate the two terrorists who entered the house but were wounded by the grenades the terrorist threw at them before they were shot. Adar was able to escape to the roof but Guy jumped out of the window and was killed by a terrorist who shot him. All those  inside the safety room were rescued alive after 7 hours. Guy’s father, former Fire and Rescue Commissioner Brigadier General Dadi Simchi, arrive on the scene that evening to extracts the body of his son. May he rest in peace.
