The soldiers of the Nahal special forces unit were holding the Sufa outpost on the day the war broke out. The outpost is located only 3 kilometers from the border with the Gaza Strip and on the morning of the attack dozens of terrorists stormed it. The special forces engaged the terrorists for many hours, despite being outnumbered and nearly running out of ammunition. After numerous hours of fighting, reinforcements joined the battle, the men and women of the Karakal Regiment led by Lt. Col. Or Ben-Yehuda and the soldiers of Shayetet 13, who were deployed by helicopters, and together, they successfully cleared the outpost of terrorists.
