Upon learning about the Hamas’ terror attack, Shlomo Boimster, a 70-year-old Homefront emergency Lieutenant Colonel in reserves in the Gaza Division, immediately drove to his military base, near Kibbutz Reim. On his way he encountered a squad of terrorists, and although wounded by shrapnel, he engaged and eliminated them. Despite his injury, he continued his work in the division’s operations room during the fighting. Last year, Lt. Col. Boimster received a medal of honor from the commander of the Gaza Division.
