As the attack began on the morning of October 7, eight terrorists surrounded the home of Warrant Officer (res.) Yonatan Ben Naim, a resident of Moshav Pri Gan, and commenced massive fire. Ben Naim and his family took refuge in their safe room. They secured the door with a special chain that Ben Naim had personally prepared. The terrorists burst into the house, employing grenades and heavy gunfire, and shot into every room except the children’s rooms. They turned the place into their center of operations for two and a half hours. Through a crack in the window blinds of the safe room, the terrorists inserted the barrel of a rifle and shot at the family; but Ben Naim and his son shot back from inside the safe room while alerting their acquaintances in neighboring communities. After two and a half hours, help arrived — including the emergency squad from Shlomit, the closest of the communities. They battled the terrorists and forced them out. When IDF forces turned up, there were already no terrorists left at the moshav.
