Sergeant Habib Tayeb arrived in Kibbutz Sufa on the morning of October 7, 2023, together with the deputy commander of Division 80, the commander of the Eilat Counter-Terrorism Unit, and three other fighters. At that time, a battle with terrorists was already underway at the Sufa outpost, where most of the soldiers were engaged. The six fighters, armed only with small weapons, bravely defended the kibbutz for several hours, repelling dozens of terrorists, until the arrival of reinforcements from the Eilat Counter-Terrorism Unit.
