After hearing the report of the invasion into Kibbutz Be’eri Israel on Saturday, October 7, 2023, fighters of the Counter-Terrorism Unit arrived in the kibbutz along with fighters of the Shayetet 13 commando unit and fought alongside one another. One of them, Staff Seargeant D. of the Counter-Terrorism Unit, rescued an elderly couple from a burning house and then found himself in a confrontation with terrorists. Although injured, he tied a tourniquet on his own wound and continued fighting. It was only after the incident’s conclusion that he was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
