1st Sgt. Yulia Wexer was the first at the massacre to alert headquarters

First Sergeant Yulia Wezer was Bureau Chief of the Southern District’s Operations Officer, Commander Amir Klein, and being off duty, she was working security at the nature party near Kibbutz Re’im. She was the first to inform Commander Klein of the attack’s extent. Under constant fire, she described the quantities of terrorists, sent pictures of the area, and provided her location over WhatsApp to guide the commander of the force that was dispatched. At 9:14 am she spoke with her commander for the last time. He asked her to hide beneath the victims’ bodies. Twenty minutes later, there was no answer from her. May she rest in peace.
